The Sony Venice Rialto Kit rental enables filmmakers to separate the image sensor from the main Venice body up to 5.5 m via a tether cable, maintaining full 6K sensor quality with no recording limitations. The compact sensor block weighs only 1.9 kg (PL) or 1.4 kg (E‑mount), making it ideal for handheld, gimbal, crane, or vehicle mounting in confined spaces.
In addition to the extended separation, the Extension System also features an HD-SDI output and a 24V output for powering accessories like lens servo motors and monitoring equipment. The multiple screw holes on all surfaces make it easy to attach additional accessories and fit with a wide variety of rigs for example enabling attachment of monitors and lens motors. This system is fully compatible with all existing and future VENICE cameras upgraded to V3 or higher firmware.
The Sony VENICE RIALTO Extension System offers enhanced mobility and manoeuvrability, making it ideal for filming with gimbals, handheld, in helicopter or underwater housings, and even custom rigs for 3D or VR content. The separated image block weighs just 1.9kg (4lb) with a PL mount and 1.4kg (3lb) with an E-mount, providing ultimate shooting flexibility.
Mounting is simplified with ¼‑20 and ⅜‑16 threaded holes on the sensor housing, while the setup is fully compatible with Venice bodies on firmware 3.0 or above. Built for practicality, the Rialto has been used on high-end productions—including shots in tight spaces and helicopter/car mounts—without compromising image fidelity.
The rental kit includes the sensor extension unit, cables (9 m + 9 m), mounting hardware, sensor cover plate, and accessories—enabling seamless integration into Venice rigs for complex setups.
